A fantastic Primary School in Thornton Heath, CR7 is on the hunt for a SEN Teaching Assistant This will be a full-time, and long-term role. You will specialise in supporting children with special educational needs on both a 1:1 & group basis across KS1. The SENCO is eager to find a forward-thinking, and hardworking teaching assistant who is keen to go above and beyond for all.
Responsibilities:
- 1:1 and group support for children with Special Educational Needs,
- Work across Early Years and KS1 to support the class teacher with lesson delivery,
- Assist with daily classroom activities, help to design a creative and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with school SENCO and class teacher to ensure the child's learning and developmental targets are being met,
- Regularly monitor academic development,
- Promote positive peer interactions.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a level 3 TA qualification or equivalent,
- Have a great understanding of wide range of SEN needs, including autism,
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a primary school environment
- Ability to adapt to various, complex situations and being resilient,
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate
