The Role:
They offer high quality affordable extended childcare for children from 6 weeks - 12 years. You will support the aims and objectives of the service and assist the management team in the organisation of a high-quality establishment providing excellent standards of childcare and education. Offering a happy secure and inspiring setting to promote the educational, physical, cultural and emotional needs of the children who use the service is our priority. As an experienced practitioner you will create openings for parents and children to develop relationships, self-esteem and resourcefulness through the delivery of targeted support.
Main Duties:
•To promote the high standards of the service at all times to parents, staff and visitors
•To keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's life.
•To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
•To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories.

Essential
•Educated to level 3 or above with a recognised professional qualification in early years education or equivalent Experience of supplying a programme of care and play activities for children from birth to 5 years in a nursery or similar setting.
•Have proven organisational skills.
•Have knowledge and understanding of current legislature and best practice documents.
In addition, you will need to be flexible and resourceful, with a strong commitment to delivering first class childcare.
All staff and volunteers are expected to demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding children and young people within their work.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the criteria for registration with Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and the Scottish Social Services Council.
