IT Support Engineer 2nd Line
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £25,000 to £35,000
Start Date: ASAP
IMPORTANT: Your experience must include a significant amount of time working for a Managed Service Provider, during which time you will have supplied remote support to an external client base.
Qualifications:
1. A Degree in Computer Science
2. A level / AS level in Information Technology
3. BTEC National Diploma / Higher National Diploma in Information Technology (or similar)
Industry certifications will also prove an advantage:
1. CompTIA N
2. Microsoft MCP / MCSE
3. Cisco (CCNA)
Responsibilities:
Your role will be a ‘typical 2nd Line helpdesk’ position working at a reasonable pace and moderate level of technical difficulty. The ability to make sound decisions based on technical knowledge is also a requirement.
Proven experience in the following areas is necessary:
1. Ability to resolve typical 2nd line queries and escalations such as:
* Complex desktop / PC related issues
* Server or network troubleshooting
* Office 365 administration
1. Good knowledge of industry on-premise infrastructure, desktop, server, datacentre, compute, storage, networking, connectivity, virtualisation, and security solutions.
2. Good knowledge of industry cloud technology, Office 365, Azure, Private Cloud
3. Ability to engage with more technical engineers convincingly.
The role will suit individuals currently working as IT Support Engineer 2nd Line, 2nd Line Helpdesk Engineer, 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer, IT Support Engineer, PC Support, Desktop Support and living within a commutable distance of Basildon, Chelmsford, Southend, East London or be willing to relocate.
