As part of The Savoy's exciting journey, it is now seeking a charismatic Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing day-to-day finance, leading a team of c10 talented finance professionals
2. Ownership of all operational aspects of finance across the Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cashflow
3. The month-end process from start to finish
4. Lender Reporting - Covenant reporting
5. Statutory reporting - Working with external advisors when required
6. Ensuring the appropriate Control environment is in place
7. Leading the development and improvement of processes, controls, and systems
8. Variance analysis and reporting on trends
9. KPI Reporting
10. Oversight of capital expenditure on a monthly and ad hoc basis
11. Reviewing and authorising relevant areas, i.e. POs and Expenses, refunds, allowances, banking transactions as required by Company policy
12. Quarterly/monthly VAT returns within the set deadlines by HMRC
13. Year-end audit requirements - lead liaison with external auditors
14. Internal audit - self-assessment and ensuring compliance with requirements
15. Balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation
16. Overall controller for CAPEX / FF&E
17. Managing key relationships and processes for the ongoing capital projects
18. Assist with budgeting and forecasting
19. Coaching and developing the finance team
20. Supporting the Director of Finance in ad hoc project requests
Required Candidate Profile:
1. ACA or ACCA qualified, having already moved into industry
2. In-depth experience of either delivering as part of an operational finance team or of leading the function
3. Demonstrably exceptional communication skills, easily able to engage with a wide range of finance and non-finance stakeholders
4. Experience and desire to build a high-performing team
5. The drive and energy to deliver exceptional results
6. High levels of emotional intelligence
7. A genuine interest in the luxury hospitality sector
8. Happy to be hands-on and comfortable getting hands dirty within a fast-paced SME
9. Polished, presentable, and able to represent the brand in the appropriate manner
