Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring ward manager to lead Ward 17 at Calderdale Royal Hospital. Ward 17 is a 24 bedded Gastroenterology ward and looks after patients with a range of gastroenterological conditions.
As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for a team of staff, and ensuring that patients have an excellent patient experience.
You will have the ability to demonstrate the CHFT behaviours expected of all colleagues, and be an excellent role model for your team. You will work a mixture of clinical and admin shifts in order to keep the base safe, and ensure all clinical governance targets and expectations are met.

1. All nursing tasks within the ward environment.
2. Competence in medicines management is essential.
3. Roster creation and management.
4. Recruitment and retainment.
5. Setting standards for the working environment.

Essential criteria
* First level registration with NMC
* Mentorship / Preceptorship Qualification
* Evidence of recent education in relevant field

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Essential criteria
* Substantial post registration experience
* Experience of working in Acute Medicine
* Experience at band 6 in Acute medicine
* The ability to demonstrate comprehensive current acute medicine knowledge, skills and experience.
* Evidence of effective leadership and developmental work.
* Demonstrate an understanding of current issues in health and social care
* Up to date professional knowledge
* Commitment to clinical audit, research, and evidence-based practice
Desirable criteria
* Experience and facilitation of change management
