An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our well-established Medical and Nursing team within the Medical Division at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust (Calderdale site).
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of the Ward Manager to provide leadership, management and support to the ward team and is responsible for the provision of patient care, ensuring that it is evidence based and of a high standard and to maintain 24-hour responsibility for ward 15 (27 bedded unit).
The post holder will ensure that patients receive the necessary care and promote discharges utilising the correct pathway facilitating a safe discharge. This will be achieved through the application of specialist knowledge, skills and practice.
This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of the multi-disciplinary/speciality teams, the Consultants, Heads of Nursing, Matrons, Ward Managers and Therapies. In order to succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to have the ability to deal with challenging situations in a fast-paced environment in a professional and calm manner.
Main duties of the job
As Ward Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the ward. You will manage a large team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will need to complete audits / clinical governance and produce management reports, off duties and verification of pay.

* Substantial post registration experience
