Mercer is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity in our Group Risk Benefits Consulting Team. The successful candidate will join an existing team of group risk analysts and consultants in delivering consulting and broking solutions around Group Life and Group Disability cover to some of Ireland's most prominent and well known employers.
Specific experience with group risk benefits is highly desirable, as is consulting experience. The role will offer the opportunity to work on some of our key corporate clients (both domestic and multinational) and with the Irish group risk insurance market.
What can you expect:
The Group Risk Consulting Team operates across our Dublin and Cork offices (with work from home permitted up to 2 days per week). We deliver group risk consulting and broking services for our clients and their employees. You will work as part of an overall Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) team that also contains, alongside the Group Risk area, consultants that assist clients with Group Medical and Mobility benefit solutions. The MMB team is currently made up of 14 consultants and analysts, delivering solutions to a portfolio of Irish and international clients. The role involves assisting clients in putting in place, monitoring and reviewing employee group risk arrangements, along with providing ad hoc consulting on issues affecting their group risk benefit plans.
This role within the team is intended for a candidate with consulting experience and the qualifications required to consult with clients on their group risk benefits from Day 1. You will need to understand our clients’ needs and develop solutions, efficiently and in line with all regulatory and compliance requirements.
We will rely on you to:
* Work with clients to review their Group Risk programmes/needs and to advise on and implement new programmes.
* Provide value-added consulting expertise to a wide variety of clients in Ireland.
* Lead projects and ensure the progress of project teams against established objectives, budgets and timelines.
* Prepare client presentations and reports that will be presented to senior compensation and benefit stakeholders, senior-level executives, and/or management.
* Assist in the provision of ad hoc group risk consulting advice to clients and Mercer colleagues.
* Deliver new business.
* Manage relationships with clients.
* Deliver and maintain professional and ethical standards of service to all business partners.
* Work to agreed Service Level Agreements at all times.
* Maintain and cultivate relationships with insurers to achieve best client service and innovative solutions for clients.
What you will need to have:
* Consulting experience
* Full QFA qualification, or equivalent enabling compliant consulting on group risk benefits
* Knowledge of corporate client group risk benefits design
* Demonstrated success in employee benefits environment
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the Irish employee benefit landscape
* Excellent analytical skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis
* Ability to guide project teams and collaborate with others to deliver to clients
* Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
* Ability to work within a team environment as a team player and a flexible approach to work
* Acceptance of need for involvement in day to day work
* Record of achieving results
