We are looking for a talented Creative Head to lead the Creative team in the BBC's Scotland Marketing division. This role reports into the Senior Head of Marketing, overseeing the creation and development of campaigns across video, audio, and digital platforms. You will lead and inspire a team to create innovative work of the highest standard working closely with the Marketing and Media teams and other divisions across the BBC. The team create brand and content campaigns in support of the BBC's portfolio of content and services and the role is varied in its output spanning drama, comedy, sport, factual and entertainment, investigative journalism and podcasts including true crime, sport and news. A typical content campaign could cover key art, social assets, tv and radio trailers, iPlayer pre-roll and for wider scale campaigns, out of home. Brand campaign management would include overseeing conceptual campaigns from development through to shoots and final delivery. Recent campaigns produced by the team include Rebus, Scottish Cup, Only Child, The Agency Unfiltered, and Murder Trial plus podcasts Dead Man Running, Inside Murder Trial and Who Killed Emma?Main Responsibilities Team leadership
* Lead a creative team of different specialisms.
* Drive forward and manage work within a specialist craft or portfolio of crafts.
* Manage stakeholders across the department and the wider BBC in order to deliver excellent creative solutions.
* Line manage a number of Creatives and lead, enthuse and encourage a working atmosphere of risk taking and innovation, embracing new ways of working.
Creativity
* Create and oversee innovative and effective content.
* Work to formal/informal creative briefs, and ensure material from the team is highly targeted and meets agreed objectives.
* Inspire the team to generate outstanding creative work, coaching and mentoring as well as leading by example.
Production skills
* Set high standard for production values.
* Coach and mentor team members to ensure that all output is of high quality.
* Manage a wide variety of projects - commissioning and briefing staff/contributors as appropriate.
* Ensure your team have the relevant skills and can deploy them as needed to create work of a high standard.
Communication and Business Culture
* Responsible for communication within the team, ensuring that key messages are communicated out in a timely and appropriate manner.
* Liaise with marketers and programme producers, and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners.
* Work closely with craft personnel within your team and across BBC Creative, briefing them effectively to produce the required material.
* Contribute to the development, realisation and evaluation of broader company and department initiatives.
* Be a role model within the business, ensuring effective recruitment, appraisal, training, development, and communication processes are in place which meets or exceeds BBC standards.
We are looking for an outstanding Creative with a significant campaign portfolio. You may already have leadership experience or be looking to take the next step in your career.
We are also looking for the following attributes in our ideal candidate; A keen eye for detail, the ability to lead the development and translation of creative concepts across broadcast, print, digital, social, tv and audio. You'll live and breathe the latest creative trends, thrive on developing your team, and building a strong creative culture. Comfortable taking creative risks, and working in a matrix environment across teams in different areas of the business, collaborating to get the highest quality creative output. A passion for broadcast content, be it a box set binger or an avid podcast listener, with an understanding of changing audience behaviour, and the ability to adapt creative styles to mirror this. You will need: CREATIVITY - To have proven credentials in creating bold and original campaigns across different platforms. LEADERSHIP - To have experience of managing / mentoring Creatives, and the potential to be an outstanding leader PRODUCTION - To have a fundamental understanding of video, audio and digital/broadcast, content creation, and out of home design, with a good knowledge of key software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) COMMUNICATION - To have good influencing/persuading skills and be confident working with senior stakeholders.
