As a Fire Engineer, you'll take on a variety of fire engineering projects, contributing to design strategies and ensuring safety standards across multiple sectors.
Your role will combine desktop analysis and off-site activities, with opportunities to collaborate directly with clients.
The Fire Engineer's Role
Develop comprehensive fire strategy reports and documentation.
Oversee fire safety aspects, including passive and active systems, compartmentation, and escape provisions.
Review architectural drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Perform evacuation time calculations and computational evacuation modelling.
Conduct fire engineering calculations, such as radiant heat, smoke control, and occupant evacuation scenarios.
Communicate fire strategies effectively to design teams and clients.
Provide third-party design verification.
Apply and ensure compliance with UK fire safety legislation and standards.
The Ideal Fire Engineer Will Have
A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team.
Working knowledge of regulatory controls and the ability to develop fire-engineered design solutions.
Membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE or AIFireE).
Strong understanding of ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, and BB100.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Annual Leave: 33 days (including bank holidays), increasing by 2 days after 2 years of service.
