WithYou, Harbour and ITS in Redcar and Cleveland are part of the THRIVE partnership. This integrated domestic abuse and substance use service is looking to recruit a multi-skilled staff member to deliver substance use and domestic abuse interventions within the local authority safeguarding teams. The staff members will be responsible for responding quickly to high-risk safeguarding situations, ensuring that people receive appropriate support and guidance.

We are looking for someone to predominantly work with Children's Social Care teams and adults, developing pathways into services and engaging proactively with the local community. As a Recovery Worker, you will provide support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be. You will also be required to deliver group sessions to stakeholders. We are determined and always professional in our approach to each and every case and we never judge; we're just here to help.
The successful candidate will be required to work on an outreach basis, working closely with the safeguarding team and will be expected to respond to referrals on the same day to deliver psychosocial interventions with the aim of reducing harm and managing risks alongside the adult access team.
You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

* keeping them safe
* creating a plan they can achieve with your support
* checking in with them and reviewing their progress
* keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
* working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
* continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
* supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care
REQUIRED SKILLS
To be successful in this role, you will:
* have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
* have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
* have previous experience of working with people who misuse substances
* have knowledge of health and safety, including assessing clients in high-risk situations
* have knowledge of assessing risks and risk assessments
* have knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse
* have knowledge of safeguarding children and adults, and working with children and families
* have knowledge of harm minimisation interventions and prevention techniques
* be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
* have good oral and written communication skills including IT skills
* be organised and able to manage your time effectively
* have the ability to build and maintain effective and therapeutic relationships with clients and colleagues alike
* be adaptable, have excellent time management skills and be able to work on your own initiative
* have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* be flexible with your working hours on occasion
Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
