Position: System or Senior System Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Negotiable (Open to candidates at all levels)
Main Duties:
1. Full life cycle project delivery as part of a team.
2. Providing timely, accurate and effective solutions to technical problems.
3. On-site installation and commissioning of both HW and SW systems.
4. Programming memory and speed-efficient data acquisition and control applications.
5. Developing intuitive graphical user interfaces.
6. Selecting the correct measurement hardware for a given application based on a customer's specification.
7. Collaborate with systems engineers, product hardware and software engineers, throughout each system's development and production life cycle.
8. Troubleshooting problems in systems that include both software and hardware.
9. Delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to customers, colleagues and partners.
10. Architecture design and project management through the full project lifecycle and managing internal project teams. The complexity and size of projects will increase based on an individual's skills and capabilities.
11. Working with the business development team to develop technical solutions and provide project costings based upon discussions with the client, including requirements qualification and response to RFQs.
12. Creating technical documentation in line with our quality assurance system, including specifications, test plans and user manuals.
About You:
1. A degree in engineering, such as electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronics, mechanical, computer science or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of instrumentation, control and industrial automation.
3. Demonstrable experience in measurement & instrumentation design.
4. Proven experience in requirements capture and writing technical proposals.
5. Ability to debug and solve problems in a range of systems in an efficient manner.
6. Experience with mainstream PLC brands (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc) is desirable but not essential.
7. Desire and ability to learn new skills/programming/applications.
8. PLC or NI instrumentation and control panel experience.
