Job Title: Responsible Individual (RI) SEN Childrens Homes Location: Derby Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum Contract: Full-time About Us: We are a dedicated and compassionate provider of specialist residential care for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our three small, family-oriented homes, each housing up to three children, offer a nurturing environment designed to support the unique needs of every child in our care. Role Overview: As the Responsible Individual (RI), you will oversee the operational management, compliance, and safeguarding standards across our three SEN children's homes in Derby. You will play a critical role in ensuring that each home delivers exceptional care, meets all Ofsted regulations, and fosters a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for the children. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all homes operate in line with Ofsted, Childrens Homes Regulations 2015, and other relevant legislation. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding. Leadership & Oversight: Support and mentor Registered Managers in delivering outstanding care and maintaining compliance. Safeguarding & Child Protection: Ensure robust safeguarding policies and procedures are in place and adhered to across all homes. Operational Management: Oversee staffing, budgets, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth operation and sustainability. Multi-Agency Working: Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, and external professionals. Strategic Development: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the care and outcomes for children. Requirements: Essential: Experience as a Responsible Individual (RI) or senior leadership role within a childrens residential setting. Strong knowledge of Childrens Homes Regulations, Ofsted inspection framework, and safeguarding legislation. Proven ability to manage multiple residential homes and teams effectively. Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. A passion for supporting children with SEN and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this qualification). Desirable: Experience working specifically with SEN children in a residential setting. A track record of improving Ofsted ratings and service quality.
