An opportunity has arisen within our Multi-Domain Mission Support Systems (MD MSS) team for a Systems Engineer. In the face of ever-evolving threats, mission success hinges on seamlessly integrating disparate data streams and platform communications to provide a unified view of the battlespace and allow coordinated actions with unprecedented precision. MD MSS is a cutting-edge system that delivers this capability, acting as a key enabler to military planning, weaving together and exploiting critical information from across the battlespace, from near-real-time intelligence feeds to data communications. MD MSS ensures that commanders have the right information at the right time, supporting rapid decision-making and decisive action. MD MSS is not just a system; it's the key to mission success. Primary Purpose & Key Interactions: The systems engineer working within a multi-discipline team including with system architects and system, software and hardware design engineers will define and deliver the product. The systems engineer will report to the Systems Lead and Engineering Delivery manager within the product team and a Systems Line Manager. Key Responsibilities: The role will require collaborating with the product team as a Systems engineer in the design and development process, covering one or more of the following Requirements capture, development and management, System definition incl. behaviour & performance Sub-system design, interface control and component specification, incl. speciality considerations through Security, Safety and Integrated Logistic Support Develop and optimise the design through system trades, analyses and prototyping Maintain and update System Build information Support formal and ad-hoc Hardware, Software, Data and Security Release processes Support the application deployment at Naval & Air domain sites. Essential Skills & Experience Requirements: Bachelor Degree (BEng, BSc) or equivalent in a Numerate, Scientific or Engineering Discipline Ability to demonstrate skills in System Engineering or similar design processes High degree of technical expertise, problem solving skills and/or innovation. Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communicate skills Ability to demonstrate working within a team under pressure. Able to deliver, overcome barriers and make things happen Desirable Skills & Experience: Defence Industry Experience Systems Engineering Experience Behaviours Goal orientated and delivery focussed. Display innovation and self-motivation. Be able to work in a high pressure environment; Demonstrate dedication and determination in assigned tasks Special Requirements: Ability to travel in the UK and Internationally.
