This is an excellent opportunity to join our dynamic glaucoma service within the ophthalmology service at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The position is based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford but some cross site travel may be required.
This fellowship provides extensive clinical and surgical experience in the diagnosis and management of Glaucoma. Some prior experience in glaucoma for this position is essential. The post may involve component working in the eye emergency clinic and has on call commitment.
The department is well equipped with modern equipment including OCT’s lasers and dedicated Ophthalmic operating theatres.
To gain comprehensive experience in:
• • Managing complex glaucoma patients
• Performing a full range of laser treatments for glaucoma
• Performing glaucoma surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and complex cataract surgery
• Supervision of allied health professionals working within the glaucoma service and junior doctors training within the department of ophthalmology
• To support the provision of the ophthalmology service including glaucoma clinics, laser clinics, surgery, eye emergency clinic and ward referrals.
• To contribute to the development overall of the glaucoma and ophthalmology service.
• To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
To work with medical, nursing and managerial colleagues to ensure the high performance in outpatients.

Regular clinical duties, which include the management of out-patients and in-patients, including ward referrals. The post holder will also be expected to take part in the on-call rota at Broomfield Hospital.
Some Cross site working may be required.
