Reporting to the Head of Product Management, you will lead several teams of developers based in the UK and India, providing leadership to enable us to develop our Digital Assessment Platform in order to meet RM Assessment’s business growth targets.
Responsibilities
You will work with high performing teams of motivated individuals with a range of specialist skills and domain knowledge.
As the Product Owner you will be expected to ensure the team has the processes, skills, capacity, resources and motivation to deliver superb quality in challenging timescales.
You will manage the team day to day, providing support, coaching and guidance to maximise the potential of individuals and as well as working alongside senior members of the department to grow and shape our development function.
1. Define and prioritize the product backlog items based on the overall strategy and business objectives, ensuring clear communication of requirements to the development team.
2. Define Acceptance Criteria for backlog items, ensuring items are delivered to these.
3. Facilitate sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings to ensure alignment with the product roadmap and continuous improvement of processes.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather and refine requirements, ensuring the product meets customer needs and market demands.
5. Oversee the development stages, acting as a liaison between the development team and stakeholders, to ensure features are delivered according to specifications.
6. Implement risk management strategies to identify potential product issues, mitigate risks, and ensure the product’s success in the market.
7. Champion the adoption of new technologies or processes within the product development lifecycle and across the Product Teams (onshore and offshore) to improve efficiency and product outcomes.
Experience
We are looking for a superb Senior Product Owner with a rich background in product development, having honed their skills through extensive hands-on experience. They are expected to have mastered agile methodologies, demonstrating proficiency in steering product strategy, roadmap planning, and execution.
You will have:
1. Product Management or Business Analysis:
o Experience in product ownership or management, business analysis, or a related field.
o Understanding of market research, customer needs, and competitive analysis.
2. Development Methodologies:
o Hands-on experience working in Waterfall and Agile/Scrum environments.
3. Stakeholder Management:
o Experience collaborating with business leaders, development teams, and customers.
o Ability to balance business needs with technical feasibility.
4. Technical Understanding:
o While not necessarily a developer, you should understand technology and software development processes.
o You should have a familiarity with APIs, cloud solutions, and system architecture.
5. Backlog & Roadmap Management:
o Experience defining and prioritizing product backlogs and managing roadmaps.
o Proficiency with tools like Jira and Azure DevOps.
