Fluidrive Engineer - South London - £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

Our client is a specialist for intelligent drive technology and systems as well as tailor-made services. Our client is based in South London and supports our customers in these diverse sectors for the UK and Ireland markets. As well as developing new build solutions with OEMs, our client offers full aftermarket support to our customers by way of spare parts supply as well as repair and overhaul services at our local workshop or at the customer location via our highly skilled workshop and field service workforce.
We are recruiting for a Fluidrive Engineer, on a permanent full-time contract, this is a site-based position.
Responsibilities:
1. Create new and revise old manufacturing drawings.
2. Ensure all drawings created, modified, or scanned are checked, approved, and uploaded into Team Centre.
3. Ensure all drawings are drawn to suitable standards and in accordance with BS8888.
4. Maintain the current CAD system and drawing repository.
5. Maintain technical product records, manuals, and descriptions.
6. Liaise/support workshop staff on technical queries.
7. Evaluate and interpret customer technical requests.
8. Perform design changes to existing designs as and when required.
9. Update drawings to the correct standard to ensure they are fit for current manufacturing processes.
10. Support Sales Managers and Sales admin staff.
11. Liaise with customers in the UK and overseas.
12. Liaise with the parent company in Germany.
13. Support Field Service engineers on products overhauled or manufactured by Voith.
14. Be the owner of Fluidrive technical related NCR's.
15. Visit suppliers that manufacture, machine, and cast major components to assist and support their in-house processes.
16. Support both Purchasing and Quality to approve and qualify new suppliers.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing and design function.
2. Mechanical engineering qualification to minimum HND level.
3. Experience of AUTO-CAD / Siemens Nx and Team Centre.
4. Knowledge of Engineering change and document control.
5. Good understanding and application of BS 8888 technical product documentation and specification.
6. Hands-on, flexible, positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to support junior engineers.
7. Understanding of non-ferrous metal casting process.
8. Fluent in technical and conversational English.
9. Experience in power transmissions and rotating equipment.
10. Commercial awareness - understanding the impact of engineering actions and decisions on current contracts and future business.
11. Understanding of Manufacturing processes.
12. Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
13. An ability to self-learn.
14. Team player.
15. Excellent communication skills on a technical level with both internal and external customers.
16. Genuine enthusiasm for Mechanical Engineering.
Package Details:
1. Permanent Contract
2. Monday - Thursday, 8:30am to 16:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 15:30pm a 36.5-hour working week.
3. £50k - £60k (dependent on experience)
4. Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)
