We are recruiting Primary School SEN Teaching Assistants for multiple schools across Northfield, Birmingham. These positions offer a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children, helping them to reach their full potential in a mainstream primary school setting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN in line with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Assist in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment, adapting resources to meet pupils’ individual needs.
* Support the class teacher in implementing tailored strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour.
* Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
* Help pupils develop social, emotional, and communication skills through structured and unstructured activities.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary school setting (EYFS, KS1, KS2).
* We will consider applicants with relevant experience in other sectors such as youth work, social work or residential home experience.
* A solid understanding of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech and Language Difficulties.
* Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children and colleagues.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).
