Project Manager £365 - £500 per day We're currently working with a defence client who are providing emerging technological solutions to MoD aircraft, to allow innovations in digital protection. They currently require the support of a project manager on a short-term basis to support the delivery of embedded software whilst managing key stakeholders. You will be in charge of the MPM capability teams within the project, and have an overall accountability for its key operational and financial indicators. The role is being offered on an initial 6-month contract, with possibility of extension. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of 3 days a week on site in Crawley. We can offer a rate of £365.68 per day PAYE or £500 per day Umbrella inside IR35. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Responsible for all aspects of the delivery of its capability stream and project objectives. Identify and manage risks and opportunities to the project. Motivate and support the Project Team. Managing stakeholders, in particular customer and supplier relationships. Defining Project Execution Strategies in line with the agile nature of the programme through the bid phase of the lifecycle. Ensuring that the project maintains a robust baseline at all times through the execution phase of the lifecycle and that forecasts against the baseline are accurate. Driving the pace of capability insertion through the life of the programme. Ensuring that appropriate KPIs are established and controlled for Project outcomes. Ensuring robust Project Controls are deployed and effective. Representing the Project through established governance. Requirements: A proven track record of delivering successful projects in an Aerospace, Defence or similar Engineering environment. Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams with complex customer and supplier relationships. Lead the process of structuring and planning complex projects and the tailored deployment of best practice project controls Project financial and contractual management Representing projects through established governance, giving an evidence-based account of progress and distilling key risks/opportunities/support Previous experience working in a complex, multi-site organisation Commercial, financial and business acumen Communication – interpersonal, verbal and presentation/report writing Desirable Capture and/or Bid Management experience The ability to look ahead, identify risks and opportunities and proactively engage with them Demand planning principles in a project context with a focus on the reliable forecasting of resource requirements Experience of leading a range of different project types – Design & Manufacture, Service & Support, Transformation etc Appropriate knowledge/experience of embedded software delivery in the defence sector IPMA and/or other relevant professional Project Management qualifications Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance ADZN1_UKTJ
