Personal Assistant to Cancer Care Consultants

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated individual to join us as Personal Assistant within Cancer Care, providing administrative support to the Consultants and their teams.
This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
The post will be based at Poole Hospital, with the possibility of some cross site/home working subject to the needs of the service.
You will be motivated, flexible, willing to learn, eager to play an effective part in a busy team environment and be able to use your own initiative.
Base Location: Poole Hospital - you may be required to work across site.

Job responsibilities
The specific responsibilities include:
1. Providing administrative support to the Consultants and their teams.
2. Managing office administration duties.
3. Utilizing Microsoft Office effectively.
4. Maintaining knowledge of medical terminology and filing procedures.
5. Assisting with patient management systems.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Vocational level 3 in relevant field, e.g. Administration/Business Management or gained through extensive experience with demonstrable PC and secretarial skills.
* Good Level of English and Mathematics at GCSEs or O-Levels.
* ECDL.
Experience
* Wide range of office administration duties.
* Experience in Microsoft Office.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Excellent audio typing and word processing skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload with minimum levels of direct supervision.
* Ability to identify solutions to problems.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Knowledge of filing.
* Understanding of Trust procedures and policies relating to role.
* Knowledge of patient management system.
