Are you looking for a role that gets you out and about? South West Water is looking for a Meter Reader to be part of our dedicated team based in Plymouth. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, on a salary of £23,152 per annum plus a range of excellent company benefits and support with your progression.
About the role: As a Meter Reader for South West Water, you'll be out reading customer water meters across our service area to help ensure we deliver accurate customer billing.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Accurately record and report water meter readings across our service area.
2. Deliver great customer service for both Household and Non-Household customers.
3. Optimise your time, routes, and mileage - local knowledge of the area helps!
4. Complete scheduled and unscheduled meter readings to meet your targets.
5. Report faulty meters for repair, meters not set up on the system, and suspected meter fraud cases for investigation.
6. Communicate well with all customers and colleagues.
7. Ensure company van and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
8. Prioritise Health and Safety and follow our Home Safe guidance & procedures.
What we are looking for:
1. A full UK driving licence.
2. Confident interacting with customers with customer-facing experience.
3. Ability to deliver targets and goals.
4. Comfortable with lone working - in all weather conditions.
5. Basic computer skills for accurately reporting meter readings.
