Job Description
Based in a prestigious site in Sunderland catering for 6000 employees in 3 Catering outlets, you will assist in the day-to-day catering providing lunch and tea service, covering different shifts when needed.
Your role will also require you to assist in covering locations across the North East Region with a mileage allowance to cover travel costs.
Reporting to: Operations Manager/Operations Support Manager/General Manager
Overall Objectives: To cover the role of the Head Chef/Manager in the kitchen operation and ensure the company’s reputation for food quality is maintained at all times.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. To plan, prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Chef Manager.
2. To assist in the development and planning of menus, including future food trends, and to be passionate about developing new styles of service and concepts in the location.
3. To assist with stock taking when required.
4. To carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section as appropriate.
Client Service:
1. To ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service and expectations are consistently exceeded.
2. To be customer-focused at all times, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs.
Financial Management:
1. To compile all food orders for sections under your supervision, ensuring food standards and cost are agreed with the Head Chef; to ensure stock, deliveries and wastage are all checked and recorded in line with company and food standards.
2. To gain an understanding of food costing, sales mix and menu planning.
Health & Safety, Food Safety, the Environment:
1. To adhere to the company’s Hygiene, Health and Safety policies.
2. To rigorously follow the company cleaning schedules.
3. To ensure that food storage areas are maintained in accordance with the company’s Hygiene, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
