About the job Job summary His Majestys Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdoms Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, First Mine Counter Measure Squadron and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clydes primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year. RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description The Clyde Training and Development Team sits within the Business Department under the leadership of the Assistant Head People and Organisational Development. The Learning & Development Adviser (Nuclear) is responsible for the delivery of a high quality, customer focussed training service to Military, Civilian and Industry Partner personnel based at HM Naval Base Clyde. This is an extremely fast paced role within a busy department. This post offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of training activity here at HM Naval Base Clyde. Key Responsibilities Working as part of a small team responsible for the delivery of a customer focused training function at HMNB Clyde including admin processes in support of nuclear, mandated, and functional training. You will co-ordinate and draft the nuclear input to the annual HMNB Clyde Training Plan which incorporates all site nuclear, mandated, and functional training including arranging of relevant training courses to satisfy approved requirements and notify nominees of training arrangement. You will be responsible for implementing Learning & Development (L&D) policies and strategies, disseminating information, and providing guidance on training policy and courses available to all staff within HMNB Clyde (Military, Civilian and Industry Partner) using the full range of channels. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of an Annual Statement of Training Requirement (Nuclear) through a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for HMNB Clyde and associated customers. This includes: Interpreting and implementing the results of the TNA culminating in the production and publication of an annual training plan. Review and authorisation of training applications for both Naval Base Commander Clyde and Industry Partner staff including maintaining associated documentation. Facilitation of nuclear training courses on site including issue of course material, recording attendance and on the day administration. You will lead the day-to-day administration of the Nuclear Training Requirements Plan (NTRP) including: Maintaining accurate records and producing and issuing timely and accurate Management Information. Managing the regular review and management of Nuclear training and competence waivers, including hastening activity. Providing advice to individuals on the Nuclear Training & Qualification Sub Committee application process. Maintenance and updating of the Clyde Training web page. Continual review of processes to ensure efficient and effective.
