Vision Survey is seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to lead our operations team and enhance the efficiency of our processes across the organisation. As part of our strong commitment to excellence in the construction industry, you will be crucial in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
In this role, you will manage daily operations, develop strategies to streamline procedures, and collaborate with different departments to achieve our company objectives. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a positive work culture while driving performance and accountability.
Responsibilities
* Supervise all Heads of Departments including Service Protection, Utilities, Geospatial, and Site Engineering, along with the local administration team.
* Create and execute operational strategies, policies, and procedures that effectively increase productivity and improve quality.
* Guide, mentor, and manage the operations team, promoting a culture of ongoing improvement and professional growth.
* Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet the defined scope, budget, and quality criteria.
* Assess operational risks and devise strategies to mitigate them, minimising potential disruptions.
* Perform regular audits and evaluations to confirm compliance with company policies and industry standards.
* Provide reports on operational performance to senior management and offer insights for strategic planning.
* Formulate a comprehensive growth strategy for the Midlands branch and enhance business development initiatives to widen the branch's client base.
* Lead recruitment efforts that align with our ambitious growth plans.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for branch-related inquiries, addressing issues or delegating tasks as necessary.
* Ensure the successful implementation of all branch projects, aligning them with customer requirements and internal standards.
* Oversee the preparation and submission of approved bids and proposals for the branch, adhering to established protocols and meeting customer expectations.
* Monitor the performance of branch departments to ensure they meet agreed-upon performance metrics and remain within project budgets.
* Organize and facilitate the planning and presence of key personnel during Quality and Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) audits, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
* Collaborate with the Head Office to uphold excellence in process management and performance within project/task-based Work Packages.
* Manage branch budgets and effectively supervise sales, supply chain, quality control, deadlines, and safety protocols.
* Demonstrate proven experience and understanding of business finance and commercial operations, with a strong ability to oversee branch expenses.
Requirements
* Solid understanding of performance management and process improvement methodologies.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
* Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or a related field, within the aviation, construction or engineering industry preferred.
* Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and recommend solutions.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the construction industry is a plus.
* Desirable qualifications include project management certifications, experience in compiling quotes and tenders, and contractual knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts.
