Job role: Support worker (Female) Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from mum. Hours: 8 hours a week, within the school holidays only (13 weeks per year). Based at: Employers own home, plus in and around the local area in Felixstowe. A must: A regular/permanent person is really what the family are looking for. Just so they can build up trust over time. Plus, it gives you a chance to become a lovely companion to the girl. Must have experience in the caring sector. Pay: £12.50 per hour (funded through direct payments). Main support with: Some personal care. Help with supervision, as this is required at ALL times. Support with ALL safety aspects, due to no danger awareness. Fun time. To engage with our daughter through play, books and music etc. To support mum and attend trips to the beach. Or any other activity the girl enjoys. To perform other duties as may reasonably be required by mum. Support and assist with her meals and drink. Help to give her independence and building her confidence. The person we are looking for: To be patient and supportive. Willingness to help, learn and to take direction. Bubbly, happy, outgoing person. To have an understanding or to understand the young girl and her needs. Flexible, honest and reliable. Excellent communication skills. To be able to work on your own initiative and to be aware of risks. Preferrable to have had training in manual handling and to be first aid trained. A DBS check, and a personal reference will be required or similar.
