Job summary
This position provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and creative nurse to lead on delivering the safeguarding agenda for Children and Young People within the Trust.
An opportunity has arisen within the South Tees Safeguarding team to lead the Safeguarding Children's team to ensure the organisation meets its safeguarding responsibilities with regard to children, young people and their families.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone considering a new challenge within a multi-agency setting offering advice, guidance, and support in relation to often complex, sensitive and emotive safeguarding concerns and delivering the safeguarding agenda for Children and Young People within the Trust.
Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure effective relationships and integrated working with the wider safeguarding team (adults, MCA, learning disabilities, domestic abuse) and work across acute services and within a multi-agency arena. They will provide advice and support to organisation staff on the safeguarding issues affecting the health and wellbeing of children, young people. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with other agencies providing health advice and support to multi-agency partners as well as deputise for the Assistant Director of Nursing- Safeguarding, MCA/DoLs, Mental Health Legislation,Learning Disabilities and Autism.

Essential
1. Knowledge and understanding of child care law; national and local policies and procedures; interagency roles and responsibilities; theoretical framework; patterns / indicators of abuse
2. Ability to assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Safeguarding Children training at all levels of the organization
3. Use of research, audit and serious case review recommendations to inform and improve practice
4. Ability to apply knowledge of national and local Safeguarding Children strategies, research and audit in the development of Safeguarding Children services

8. Registered first level nurse
9. Post-basic qualification in Health Visiting/School Nursing/Children's nursing with extensive clinical experience
