Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockton
Start Date: April 2024
Salary: £400-£450 per week
Are you a recent graduate looking to embark on your new career in secondary education? Teaching Personnel could be the answer you’re looking for. This full-time position begins in Easter and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role, depending on performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide small group and one-to-one support to students with unique needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).
2. Assist teachers in delivering lessons by adapting strategies to meet each student’s diverse needs.
3. Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
4. Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, pastoral teams, and SEN coordinators to discuss and implement individual support plans.
5. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements
1. Be a recent graduate in teaching or a related field.
2. Demonstrate a passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
3. Experience working within the education sector (desirable but not essential).
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
5. Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
6. Provide at least two professional employment references.
