About the Role
The English Teacher will play a key role in delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated English lessons tailored to students with SEN, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess English lessons that meet the individual needs of SEN students.
* Collaborate with the wider teaching and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to education.
* Provide individualized support and utilize adaptive teaching strategies to facilitate learning.
* Engage with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to support each student's progress and development.
* Contribute to the development and enrichment of the English curriculum in line with the MAT's ethos and values.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Proven experience in teaching English, ideally within an SEN or inclusive setting.
* Strong understanding of SEN practices, including familiarity with EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and needs.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
* A genuine passion for SEN education, coupled with resilience and compassion for supporting young people facing unique challenges.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Additional SEN qualifications or certifications.
* Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) or similar school structure.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches to education.
