Long-Term Teachers is proud to support a brilliant and rapidly-growing independent special school who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head Teacher to join their fantastic team. The school provides high-quality, individualised and small group learning for up to 40 pupils aged 7-16.
The students and their needs are at the heart of all the work that they do. Adopting an holistic approach to education, students have individualised timetables and opportunity to engage in a range of enrichment opportunities. As well as focusing on academic progress, the school also strongly prioritises students' social and emotional development. All students have an EHCP associated with learning and communication difficulties and autism. Staff are well supported too and are given an employee wellbeing programme.
About the role:
* Take responsibility as a school leader, overseeing the curriculum (intent, implementation and impact)
* Design a dynamic and engaging curriculum aligned with the therapeutic principles of thrive
* Collaborate with the head teacher and other senior leaders
* Guide the school towards achieving the necessary criteria for being outstanding
* Ensure the school maintains effective safeguarding practices for every student
* Inspire confidence and serve as a role model for students and staff
* Maintain integrity and professionalism at all times
The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status
* Experience working with special educational needs
* Experience working within a curriculum leadership role
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and its implementation
* Driving licence and access to your own vehicle
* Able to confidently build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues
* A positive and energetic approach to work
* A genuine passion for making a real difference to the lives of young people
Working hours will be 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday, during term time only.
