Morson Talent are delighted to present an opportunity for suitably qualified Supplier Lead Auditor to join our client’s established team for work associated with a major energy infrastructure Project in Somerset.
This is a 12-month (renewable) contract position – inside IR35.
Located: Site based with significant UK/International travel to Supplier premises
Job Purpose / Overview
The position forms part of the Supplier Audit and Counterfeit, Fraudulent & Suspect Items (CFSI) Team within the Quality Department. This department develops and maintains policies, strategies, standards, procedures and best practice in Quality as well as providing oversight of the Project’s activities and effectiveness.
The Supplier Lead Auditor has responsibility for completing audits of the Project Supply Chain at locations throughout the world and on site (Somerset).
The post holder is to plan, execute, report, manage audit findings and the analysis of audit results for input to the management reporting of the project.
Using established audit processes, the Supplier Lead Auditor will deliver against the annual Supplier Audit Schedule.
The Supplier Lead Auditor, by delivery of audit activities within the Supply Chain, provides confidence that the Project’s Contract requirements are understood and suitable arrangements are deployed
Principal Accountabilities
Support the development of a risk-based Supplier Audit programme which provides assurance that the Supply Chain are operating in conformance to requirements (ISO 9001 and Project protocols) and are effective in terms of delivering intended results.
Liaise with the Supply Chain Assurance, Supply Chain Inspection, Environmental and Health and Safety functions to capture their inputs, if any, into audit planning and outcomes.
Defining the scope, criteria and objectives for each Supplier Audit, in collaboration with the Programme Quality Management Leads and ensuring the requirements are understood.
Complete unplanned audits due to urgent operational needs identified through risk reviews.
Ensure that audits are planned effectively with effective engagement of stakeholders and auditees.
Identify and correctly categorise findings – i.e. Non-Conformances, Observations.
Ensure that audit reports are produced accurately, internally reviewed and published within agreed timescales.
Monitoring non-conformance within the reporting tool to ensure they are closed in a timely manner and corrective actions have been effective.
Input into the development of the monthly dashboard report which indicates the health of the Supplier Audit Programme.
Undertaking appropriate monitoring measurement and analysis of audit results in order to identify improvement opportunities.
Providing audit performance data input to the annual Project management review process when requested.
Liaise with the Integrated Management System Engineers to ensure audit data is available for review by Certification Body Assessor.
Coordinating with other Supplier Lead Auditor resources to share experiences and learning opportunities.

Essential
Lead Auditor qualification ISO 9001: 2015
Experience and understanding of manufacturing and industrial processes and operations
Experience of executing audit programmes
Solid understanding of the quality processes in major projects across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations
Experience in the application of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 standard in a multi-disciplinary project environment
Experience of working within Quality Management Systems
Self-managing with strong organisational skills.
Act as a strong advocate for best practice, able to support and defend practical deployment and solutions, whilst remaining open to the ideas of others
Analysis of data, preparing reports and making recommendations

Desirable
Trained and experienced in the use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) techniques
Working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional
First-hand experience in the nuclear sector or other safety critical industry
Understanding of regulatory environment including the knowledge and understanding of nuclear site licence conditions
Knowledge of QA/QC codes and standards
Knowledge of special manufacturing processes, such as Welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
