Job overview
We are looking to employ a substantive band 7 Clinical Governance and Quality Coordinator to work hours per week within the Emergency Department. This exciting role requires a highly motivated individual, who has the ability to problem solve complex issues, whilst providing specialist advice regarding legislation, guidance and the regulatory framework relevant to the management of clinical risk and to improving clinical standards and patient safety.
Demanding and challenging, this role will engage all of your existing skills, and build on them. You will work alongside and support the ED Matron in providing a high quality service to all key stakeholders and users across the organisation.
Main duties of the job

1. To lead on the investigation and analysis of incidents associated or related to the speciality or its work streams, developing and implementing actions plans, providing feedback, quarterly reviews/reports as appropriate.
2. To support the implementation of clinical audit and other clinical effectiveness processes such as benchmarking and dashboarding as a mechanism for improving quality, risk and safety.
3. To lead the analysis and reporting of the findings of the above mentioned audits, collating results, formulating action plans and leading the implementation and ongoing review of them.
4. Ensure that the Speciality meets as a minimum, the National Standards of the Care Quality Commission, focusing on the Key Lines of Enquiry [KLOE] and standards and principles of NHS Resolution, ensuring that these are embedded in our practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Ensure the Patient and Public Involvement feedback is integrated into service design and developments.
2. To provide monthly feedback into the Emergency Department Governance meeting.
3. Outside of your clinical hours, you will undertake staff appraisal, sickness management, pursue projects within the department which will enhance the ED experience for both patients and staff.

* Current level one NMC registration
* Teaching and Assessing Qualification
* Degree in health / nursing related studies

* Significant post registration experience to include management/leadership experience, including ED experience at Band 6 level
