Fakenham Medical Practice (FMP), a well-established, patient-focused GP practice in North Norfolk, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join our leadership team. We are looking for a strategic and visionary leader to manage and guide our practice in delivering high-quality healthcare services to around 15,500 patients.
About Fakenham Medical Practice:
Fakenham Medical Practice is a large, modern, purpose-built facility serving the communities of Fakenham and surrounding areas. We are a dispensing practice with a strong focus on quality and compassion, delivering traditional personal family healthcare. We work collaboratively with other local healthcare providers to offer a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. As part of the Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB), we also have a branch surgery in Walsingham and offer training opportunities for GP trainees and medical students.
Job Overview:
As CEO, you will play a key role in leading the strategic direction, management, and growth of the practice, working closely with the Partners and senior management team. You will ensure the successful delivery of the NHS contract, drive improvements in practice operations, and lead in areas such as finance, human resources, digital transformation, and patient services. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Fakenham Medical Practice and make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Work as part of the Partners’ Board, contributing to the development and delivery of the practice’s strategic vision, improving patient outcomes, and supporting the Partners in decision-making.
Operational Management: Oversee all operational areas, including finance, HR, patient services, IT, estates planning, and compliance with CQC and other regulatory bodies.
Financial Management: Manage the practice’s budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure effective use of resources to sustain and grow the practice.
Human Resources & Staff Development: Lead recruitment and retention efforts, develop staff training programs, and support staff wellbeing.
Digital Transformation & IT: Lead the practice’s digital strategy, including implementing new technologies to improve efficiency and patient care.
CQC & Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards to maintain CQC registration.
Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders, including the ICB, local healthcare providers, and the community.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably within healthcare or a related field (although not essential).
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
* Experience in strategic planning, financial management, and business development.
* A strong understanding of the healthcare sector, including NHS contracts, CQC regulations, and digital healthcare developments would be welcome but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Ability to adapt to a changing healthcare landscape and implement innovative solutions to improve service delivery.
