The Advanced Simulations department supports clients across various industries with complex fluid dynamics and multi-physics challenges. We utilize a wide range of tools, from simple scripting to advanced CFD simulations. Our clients are located in different regions and operate in diverse markets, including AEC, Energy, Environmental & Health, Transport, and Water.
Due to the growing demand for CFD services in several countries, we are seeking CFD engineers to conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies to support our development efforts.

You will join our Centre of Excellence for Advanced CFD Simulations
In your role as CFD engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled team with cross market knowledge, supporting the different business units in Ramboll as well as external Clients.
As a team member, you will play a pivotal role in delivering design support, verification services, as well as addressing operational issues and conducting both high level and detailed technical assessments for our clients.
Our typical projects encompass a wide spectrum of design phases, ranging from early-stage design iterations to the validation and prototyping of innovative solutions.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
* Delivery of CFD services. Typical tasks will include data analytics, pre-processing, simulation, post-postprocessing and reporting.
* Work independently while communicating and coordinating with colleagues, project managers and clients.
* Support the sales and tendering activities of the team.
* Take part in the maintenance and development of both existing and novel CFD methodology workflows.
Your starting point for constant growth

* Master’s degree in engineering, or a similar field, with focus on fluid-dynamics and numerical simulation (CFD).
* Deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid-dynamics and numerical simulation.
* Up to 5 years of relevant experience with commercial and/or open source CFD codes.
* Ability to perform quality work within deadlines.
* Proven experience in understanding and using the following CFD codes: OpenFOAM (ideally Engys Helyx) and Star-CCM+ CFD codes.
* Deep understanding of one or more of the following fields: Buildings and HVAC, Combustion, Process/Chemical Modelling.
* Familiarity with Linux based High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems or HPC on the Cloud.
* Experience in programming in Python, Bash and Java.
* Familiarity with commercial CAD tools (Rhino, Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software)
* Interest and/or knowledge on Machine Learning techniques and AI tools.
* Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate results through presentations and reports.
* Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to work closely with colleagues ensuring that the quality of the deliverables and deadlines are met.
* Capable of interacting with Clients and stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
* Proficient in English, verbally and in writing.
