Who You Are We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals who are compassionate about providing care and support to vulnerable people. You should have at least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities or have personal experience of the issues affecting them. The ideal candidate will be able to complete the All-Wales Induction Framework for Health and Social Care (AWIF) within 6 months and the QCF level 3 (NVQ 3) in Health and Social Care Adults within the first 2 years of employment. You are registered or will be registered with Social Care Wales as an Adult Care Home Worker within 6 months. You should have a willingness to attend training, work as part of a team, and demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of disabled people. Fluency in English and Welsh is essential, alongside having teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain individual records accurately. What the Job Involves As a Support Worker in the Disability Respite Provision, you will work as part of a team providing practical and personal care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, challenging behaviours, and/or complex health needs. This includes motivating and helping individuals to engage in various activities that support their health and wellbeing, such as gardening, arts and crafts, and music and theatre. You will need to demonstrate creativity and open-mindedness as you assist people in achieving their goals while ensuring a safe, caring, and learning environment. Key responsibilities include administering medication, building relationships with families and friends, participating in meetings and training, and maintaining the safety and confidentiality of individuals. You will be part of a bank of workers available to provide emergency cover, requiring local residence to respond within 30 minutes. Essential qualifications include NVQ/QCF Health & Social Care level 2, Social Care Wales registration, and All Wales Manual Handling Passport.
