Senior Media Account Director at Join the Dots, The Salocin Group
As a Senior Media Strategist, you will be responsible for supporting Media Account Directors on their larger client accounts and managing a couple of your own smaller media clients. You'll be instrumental in cultivating loyal and trusted business relationships, working with the key client stakeholders and the wider Join the Dots team to ensure we meet their objectives and present innovative and effective strategies, to produce compelling results to grow their business.
You will work closely with the team, evangelizing about media internally and externally, helping to build our industry profile through thought leadership.
Responsibilities
Department
* Support and input into the strategic vision of the Join the Dots team.
* Ensure that all financial reporting figures are accurate and kept up to date.
* Be familiar and up to date with latest GDPR and data compliance regulations.
* Be an evangelist for Join the Dots.
Client
* Support Account Directors on some of our larger client accounts.
* Lead for several accounts being the key contact (internally & externally) for maintaining top class client service.
* Plan and buy offline media campaigns (press, inserts, door drop etc) as per clients’ strategies.
* Have overall responsibility for account performance, growth, and financials.
* Identify trends and pro-actively develop new opportunities, continuously look at ways of increasing margins by pro-actively pushing clients to test new opportunities and initiatives.
* Prepare for and attend regular client meetings producing client presentations including campaign results, performance forecasting, manipulation, interpretation, and presentation of results with rationales and recommendations for future planning.
* Establish credibility and earn respect by depth of knowledge.
* Recommend the new and the different for clients.
* Develop strong media owner/supplier relationships.
* Demonstrate exceptional negotiations skills, including a creative and innovative approach where appropriate.
* Develop and maintain exceptional supplier and client relationships, leading the wider media team to do the same.
* Leverage supplier relationships to drive new opportunities.
New Business
* Assist with plan creation for new business opportunities.
* Help to secure new business for media within our wider group (Salocin Group).
* Work as part of the pitch team for new business.
* Confidently discuss potential cross sell of other areas within Salocin Group and identify new opportunities.
* Support senior team to produce reports, plans, etc for new business/pitches.
What we're looking for
* At least 2+ years’ experience of planning and buying offline media (press, inserts, door drop, etc).
* Strong and adjustable skills in negotiation.
* Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally with people at all levels.
* Proactive and enthusiastic self-starter.
* Confident and engaging presentation skills.
* Excellent MS office skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* A proven ability in using insight (both consumer and numerate) to produce and substantiate media plans.
* Has a consultative personality: able to actively involve and consider input of key internal colleagues.
* Exceptional time management skills: ability to prioritise workload for yourself, anticipate blockers and make contingencies.
* A persuasive, clear and concise style of writing, plus a confident approach to presenting and negotiating, can adapt dialogue to audience and is able to use technical and visual aids effectively.
* Grasps new and complex issues rapidly, and able to make complex issues understandable for others.
* Consistent high standards of honesty, integrity, professionalism, and fairness.
* Strategic and Lateral thinker who is creative in their approach to campaign planning.
* To contribute to the personal development of others and stimulate strong team spirit where all team members take ownership of each other’s work.
* Deliver thought leadership driving innovation and creativity.
* Experience in systems such as Adintel & TGI.
* Creative in problem solving and decision making, with a quick-thinking approach.
* Demonstrate an up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of the media marketplace.
