Job Title: Dispatch Clerk Location: Stockton/Dagenham Salary: £25,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatch Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the efficient and accurate dispatch of goods, as well as supporting basic administrative tasks. The role requires a valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license, as you will be responsible for safely handling stock and ensuring the smooth operation of dispatch processes. Key Responsibilities: · Dispatch Operations: o Prepare and dispatch orders to customers, ensuring all goods are packed, labeled, and despatched accurately and in a timely manner. o Monitor stock levels and liaise with the warehouse team to ensure that goods are available for dispatch. o Organise and manage dispatch paperwork, including delivery notes, packing slips, and invoices. o Ensure that all items are shipped in compliance with company standards and customer specifications. · Forklift Operation: o Safely operate a forklift truck to move, load, and unload goods as required. o Ensure proper stacking, storage, and organization of goods in the warehouse. o Perform regular safety checks on the forklift and report any maintenance issues. · Administrative Support: o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of dispatched orders and stock movements. o Assist with basic office duties such as filing, answering calls, and responding to emails. o Support the team with general clerical tasks including data entry, order processing, and updating inventory systems. · Compliance and Safety: o Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. o Ensure the correct handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable. Required Skills & Experience: · Experience: o Previous experience in a dispatch or warehouse role is essential. o Experience in operating a forklift truck (FLT) with a valid FLT license (counterbalance or reach). o Familiarity with basic administrative tasks and office systems. o Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. · Skills: o Proficient in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets). o Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). o Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and safety. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
