Chubb Bermuda / Sovereign Risk Insurance
Sovereign Risk Insurance is a Chubb Bermuda company specialising in political risk insurance. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate with a strong legal and international finance background who can lead our growing underwriting team in London.
This exciting and rewarding role also involves actively participating in marketing efforts, representing Sovereign at high-level meetings and conferences, and providing legal support to Sovereign colleagues in London and Bermuda.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and develop a team of underwriters in London.
2. Undertake underwriting duties for political risk and non-payment insurance.
3. Take an active role in marketing efforts, including international travel.
4. Manage and handle all Know Your Customer requests from Sovereign clients.
5. Assume responsibility for overseeing and managing legal and regulatory projects and provide transactional legal support to other underwriters.
Skills & Qualifications:
6. Possess a valid law qualification (English Law preferable).
7. Significant work experience within a law firm, commercial bank, or similar financial services companies.
8. Knowledge and experience in international investment law.
9. Expertise in structured trade, export, project finance and, third-party investor deals
10. Understanding of infrastructure investments in emerging markets.
11. Familiarity with drafting and negotiating political risk and non-payment insurance contracts and other legal documents.
12. Detailed understanding of banking practices for cross-border loans to emerging markets.
13. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
14. Upbeat, dynamic, and driven personality.
15. Previous experience in a management role is preferred.
16. Foreign Language with business level proficiency is a bonus (French/Spanish/German)
