We have a fantastic opportunity for a Garment Technologist Assistant to join a global fashion company in their Garment Technologist team.
Based in London, you will be measuring samples, checking quality and managing the critical path, assisting in fit sessions and liaising with suppliers. Ideally, they are looking for someone who has completed a Technical Degree or Garment Technologist Diploma in fashion and has 3 months to 1 year of experience.
Training will be offered in this role, and it is a great opportunity to further your career in Garment Technology. Hybrid working is available in this role.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
1. Measuring samples, checking the construction and quality of the garments including fabric quality, colours, and print.
2. Updating critical path and performing various data inputting tasks.
3. Assisting fit sessions alongside the Senior Technologist.
4. Providing notes, comments, and diagrams on workbooks, sending them to suppliers on a daily basis, at proto and production stages.
5. Conducting risk assessments of all products for safety, fabric, and trim suitability in relation to construction and functionality.
6. Keeping the production critical path up to date.
7. Ensuring that the products follow all safety standards and meet minimum requirements on testing.
8. Arranging for product testing to be carried out when required.
9. Liaising and communicating closely with the wider team including design and merchandising.
10. Supporting the garment technologist team with any daily administrative tasks.
Person Specification
1. A degree or equivalent in clothing technology or manufacture/fashion.
2. Some industry work experience (minimum 3 months) within a similar role.
3. IT skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), MS Outlook, Teams.
4. Must have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, have attention to detail, and be a strong team player.
5. Positive and friendly with a willingness to learn.
