About the role We have an exciting opportunity to join our in-house Tree Team within Neighbourhood Services, which is responsible for keeping Crawley residential and communal areas safe, clean, and well-maintained. This includes the thousands of trees owned and maintained by Crawley Borough Council ensuring these are healthy and safe protecting our tree stock for many years to come. As the Arboricultural Manager you will lead a team responsible for the council's tree stock involving but not limited to; inspecting and advising on all trees under the ownership of the council running the council's tree database and survey managing the tree replacement and planting programme guiding the tree team to keep the tree stock healthy and safe managing the council's contract for Arboricultural services You will be working within a friendly, motivated team to provide a customer-focused and efficient maintenance service that supports the delivery of a safe, clean and well-maintained town specifically undertaking a range of tasks across the town. For this role you will need; some experience with a tree database such as Ezytreev wide knowledge of tree issues including species identification, common pathogens, surgery techniques, tree care and planting, woodland management plans knowledge of British Standards relating to arboriculture knowledge of contract & budget management knowledge of insurance claims relating to trees and subsidence good organisation and customer care skills a full and current UK driving licence HND in arboriculture or working towards this or similar qualification We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we may close this advert before the stated closing date if enough applications are received. Additional information 37 hours per week normally working Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm and Friday 7am to 2.30pm. Occasional evenings and weekend working may be required, for which an enhancement will be paid. Please see Local Pay Agreement for remuneration. The post holder is required to hold and maintain a full current UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle, and an Essential Car User payment is applied to this role (subject to review).
