It's exciting times for one of the UK's leading, independent power systems consultancies, as they continue to enjoy significant success within the high voltage (HV) industry. As a result of major project awards and in anticipation of further growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of Power Systems. In what will be a pivotal role within the business, the Head of Power Systems will lead a team of experienced Power Systems Engineers working on some of the UK's most complex and interesting HV projects. In addition, the successful applicant will have input into business direction, strategy, generation and management. The running and expansion of the team and associated business is of paramount importance in this role. There's a great deal of flexibility around where this opportunity is based. There are offices in Bristol and Edinburgh and hybrid, as well as fully remote working, for a suitably experienced individual, is an option. This reflects the ethos of an organisation which puts its employees first. A strong appreciation of HV engineering from a design and power systems perspective is required, along with the ability to focus on business growth and strategy. Therefore, previous experience with an HV engineering consultancy, Independent Connections Provider (ICP) or Distribution Network Operator (DNO) is essential, as is Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. The Head of Power Systems must be comfortable having in-depth technical discussions and engineering from first principles, along with strong business acumen. It's an ideal role for a Head of Design, Design Manager, Lead HV Design Engineer or Principal Power Systems Engineer looking to further their career in a client-facing role. This consultancy has gone from strength to strength since its inception a few years ago, rapidly becoming a highly respected name in the power systems domain. It promises to be a fruitful move for an ambitious, technically-minded, business-focused professional. Apply to Andrew Snelgrove at Deploy.
