Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Resolution/Trust Solicitor in providing efficient and effective co-ordination of the Trust's legal obligations/demands ensuring all deadlines are met and robust legal processes are in place. To support the Head of Resolution/Trust Solicitor in the management of all legal claims and deputise in their absence. The post holder will work as part of the Legal Department, reporting to the Head of Resolution/Trust Solicitor. The post holder will manage a caseload of clinical negligence claims and other NHS Resolution legal claims with supervision from the Head of Resolution and other Solicitors/Legal Executives in the team. In addition the post holder will be responsible for dealing with initial assessments of legal advice requests from staff, this will include working on their own initiative and allow freedom to act and provide initial advice. The post holder will oversee the management of incoming non NHS Resolution requests for legal advice, prioritising urgent cases for escalation and ensuring positive relationships are formed with the range of services across the Trust and externally. The post holder must promote positive engagement with colleagues to ensure timely management and identification/escalation of actions.
