Pulmonary Rehabilitation Physiotherapist
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
ESNEFT has an exciting opportunity available for a B6 physiotherapist within the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation service is a team of physiotherapists and assistants led by a band 7 physiotherapist. It has close links with the Suffolk Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, the Suffolk Community COPD team, and the heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation services.
The team is busy, adaptable, and prides itself on a holistic care approach. We provide Pulmonary Rehabilitation (exercise and education courses) to patients with chronic respiratory diseases throughout Ipswich and the East of Suffolk.
You will be actively supported by regular supervision and individual annual appraisal. You will also be expected to work autonomously on behalf of the patients served by the local area.
The role involves delivering Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes and assessments, as well as the administrative tasks that go along with managing a group activity. You will also be responsible for coordinating the servicing and maintenance of clinical equipment.
A variety of training can be accessed to up-skill and maintain your clinical skills.
As our classes are held all over Suffolk, you must have a valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
Main duties of the job
* To provide a high standard pulmonary rehabilitation service across Suffolk, in community and in-hospital locations.
* To perform advanced respiratory assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological needs. Recognize conditions that may be undiagnosed (e.g., breathing pattern disorders) and adapt the assessment appropriately to treat the primary problem.
* To supervise less experienced members of staff, educate and assess physiotherapy students to a graduate level, and deliver teaching sessions in a specialized area as part of planned in-service training.
* To undertake evidence-based audits and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice, making recommendations for changes to current practice as required.
