An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Site Lead Occupational Therapist based at Lincoln County Hospital.
The post holder will have experience of successfully leading others. We are looking for someone who enjoys the pace of life in a busy acute hospital, who has the energy to drive change and service improvements and who will be prepared to invest energy into supporting the Leadership team in the development of the Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation services.
Lincoln County Hospital Therapy and Rehabilitation services are is made up of a fantastic team and community of Occupational Therapists who work on the wards, in out-patients and in the community settings across Lincolnshire. We work in integrated therapy teams on the in-patient wards. Our aim being to provide high quality and efficient care for the Lincolnshire population who require support from acute therapy and rehabilitation services.
You will be fully supported in this role by the Professional Lead Occupational and Physio Therapists and the Site Lead Physiotherapist and Dietitian. You will become part of a well-respected Therapy leadership group and will be encouraged to follow your special interests in this role.
This role includes Trust wide working, with an expectation that it will include the responsibility of operational leadership of an integrated therapy service across all sites.
Main duties of the job
* Jointly Responsible for operational management and clinical leadership of the Site OT Therapy services, including management of a delegated budget, recruitment, retention and deployment of staff, absence management, managing complaints, procurement and managing resources.
* Accountable for effective, efficient, high quality service performance
* Ensure effective communication between partners with ULHT and the wider healthcare community
* Represent the Occupational Therapy Service at a local level, and as required at a Trust-wide level
* Ensure staff and department comply with relevant Trust policies and guidelines
* Maintain a clinical caseload, with clinical activity accounting for between 20-30% of working hours

Essential
* Dip COT/BSc OT/MSc OT
* Registered with Health and Care Professions Council
* Membership of BAOT
* Management qualification
* Post Graduate level study in relevant subjects to Masters level or equivalent (or willing to commit to undertaking)
* Practice placement educator accreditation (APPLE)
* Leadership Development programme
* Commitment to advanced clinical and professional development throughout career as demonstrated by CPD portfolio
Desirable
* Management qualification at diploma level
* Membership of RCOT specialist section
Previous Experience

* Substantial experience of leading and managing a team
