Main Purpose Perform self-verification of own tasks and undertake cross checking of other draughts persons work Produce and develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out detail design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained Keep up to date in relevant technical areas, develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide more effective services Act as a member of a technical team created to accomplish tasks of a specialist nature Be cognisant of assigned budgets Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team The post holder is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system in both a 3D & 2D environment. Autodesk experience essential. Experience in FORAN Experience working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages). Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
