We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, gentle, fun and motivated Support Worker to support an 14 year old female with cerebral palsy in her own home. The role involves all aspects of personal care, manual handling, PEG feeding, administration of medication and support with communication. A high standard of cleanliness will be required. You will work alongside the family and a team of therapists to provide person centred and individualised care and rehabilitation. Full training will be provided.
Due to the personal nature of care to be provided, the client and her family would prefer female carers.
The client has her own wheelchair accessible vehicle which you will be required to drive on occasions.
Location:
The client’s residential home, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Working Hours:
Part time. 6am - 9am Monday to Friday, plus flexible hours over the weekends and bank holidays
As a Support Worker, you will:
• Provide care in accordance with best practices, legislative requirements, and agreed standards, under the direction of the Case Manager, Nurse and Family.
• Deliver tailored, person-centred care unique to our client to support and enable her in maintaining skills and personal interests.
• Collaborate with families and therapists to achieve optimal care and rehabilitation outcomes.
• Monitor and record the client’s health and rehabilitation progress using electronic care records and EMAR systems.
• Support the client with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, manual handling, medication administration, and communication.
