The Opportunity:
An exciting Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available in laboratories of Dr Kevin Myant and Professor Farhat Din at the Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre within the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, Western General Hospital. The post will aim to understand the role of nutrient-driven modulation of specific intestinal cell populations (such as enteroendocrine and stem cells) in the development of colorectal cancer and to identify underlying mechanisms that can be targeted. This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
Your skills and attributes for success:
* Have a PhD in a relevant subject area (or near completion).
* Experience of 3D organoid culture (mouse and human advantageous) and advanced organoid manipulation technologies (clonogenic assays, CRISPR, shRNA etc).
* Expertise in RNA expression analysis (RNAseq, qRT-PCR, other ‘omics technologies).
* Experience in murine models of colorectal cancer.
* Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual.
Salary: £40,497 to £48,149 per annum, Grade UE07
