HR Advisor – Join Our Client in Reading Location: Reading
Salary: £38,000 per annum + benefits (depending on experience)
Hours: 37 hours per week | Contract: Permanent

Why Join Our Client? Our client, a highly respected organisation in Reading, is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HR Advisor to join their team. Working closely with the Head of HR, you’ll play a vital role in shaping and delivering HR services across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of HR functions while making a real difference to employees and managers alike.
What You’ll Be Doing:
✔ Recruitment & Onboarding – Managing end-to-end recruitment, writing job adverts, conducting interviews, overseeing pre-employment checks (DBS, Right to Work), and coordinating onboarding.
✔ Employee Relations – Supporting managers with HR queries, advising on policies, assisting with investigations, grievances, and disciplinaries.
✔ Payroll & Benefits – Working with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, managing pensions, life assurance, and researching potential new benefits.
✔ Wellbeing & Engagement – Promoting EAP services, running workshops, supporting employee surveys, and enhancing internal communication.
✔ Training & Development – Coordinating training programs, managing training requests, tracking learning and development needs, and maintaining training records.
✔ HR Systems & Compliance – Managing HR records, generating reports, ensuring GDPR compliance, and keeping HR processes streamlined and up to date.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) – Essential
✅ 3-5 years' HR experience in a generalist role, including recruitment and employee relations.
✅ Strong knowledge of employment law and best HR practices.
✅ Confident advising managers on HR policies and procedures.
✅ Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
✅ Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
✅ Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
