Who You Are As a Targeted Outreach and Detached Worker, you bring significant experience working with children and young people aged 11-19 in various settings such as outreach programs, youth clubs, or educational environments. You possess strong skills in forming professional relationships with youngsters, addressing their unique challenges, and contributing to their personal and informal learning development. With a keen understanding of youth work policy and the ability to innovate, you are adept at fostering a safe environment and safeguarding vulnerable groups. You are an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, capable of engaging with diverse audiences, including young people, senior managers, and community agents. Demonstrating a collaborative ethos, you’ve shown proficiency in leading and supervising teams, ensuring service excellence, and embody key values such as accountability, transparency, and a solutions-focused approach. Your adaptability reflects your commitment to working evenings, weekends, and, if necessary, overnight stays to meet the program's objectives. What the Job Involves This role involves coordinating and delivering targeted outreach and detached youth work sessions in Enfield, particularly in areas identified by high crime, anti-social behavior (ASB), and deprivation levels. You will engage young individuals aged 11-19, and up to 25 for those with learning disabilities or as care leavers, through initiatives aimed at risk reduction such as minimizing youth violence and fostering positive outcomes. Your responsibilities include supervising assistant youth workers, casual staff, commissioned providers, and volunteers to secure effective program delivery. The role encompasses planning, executing, and assessing informal, and accredited learning opportunities while ensuring adherence to safeguarding and child protection measures. Collaboration is key, requiring partnership with internal and external agencies including schools, police, and various services to optimize service delivery outcomes. Additionally, this role demands completing administrative tasks for program assessments and reports. You will work in a hybrid model, balancing on-site community engagement in various settings with remote administrative responsibilities. Flexibility is essential as the work requires evening, weekend, and occasional overnight availability to effectively engage with the targeted youth communities.
