Operations Manager
Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfill and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers receive their items on time. It’s driven by Operations Managers who bring the team together to push excellence in safety, quality, and productivity across our sites.
At your site, you’ll lead other managers and create the operational plan that helps your teams meet their targets. This role focuses on driving operational excellence to create the Amazon of tomorrow.
Key job responsibilities
* Manage and develop a team of Area Managers
* Lead operational teams on shifts, address issues, and positively impact site performance
* Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence
* Collaborate with support teams including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security
* Design and implement initiatives to enhance operational performance
A day in the life
You’ll lead shifts at an operational site and serve as a key liaison between teams such as finance, safety, and operations. You’ll oversee daily operations and contribute to innovative improvements.
Your day may include meetings across departments, analyzing performance and risk metrics, planning for demand fluctuations, and mentoring your team to develop their management skills. You will provide leadership and support to help your team excel.
Basic Qualifications
* A degree
* Relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
* Proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate skills in the local language
* Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
* Experience in production and supply chain management
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
* Experience in logistics or similar environments
* Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
