Are you ready to be an important part of our work winning team and help shape the future of the Energy Business?
AECOM’s UK&I Energy Work Winning Team lead, manage and support our Energy teams’ most business-critical bids and tender submissions ranging from £100k-£20m. We work across established and developing markets and bring together strategy, positioning, bid management, co-ordination, writing, graphics, training and knowledge professionals – and achieve this through a culture of collaboration.
We’re at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of programmes and projects in the Energy sector from renewables to transmission, through long-term partnerships with key clients. It's an exciting time to be working at AECOM. As market leaders we're driving the energy transition in trusted partnerships with our clients. Together we are revolutionising the way energy is distributed, managed and utilised. This role will support our UK&I Energy business and can be based in any of our AECOM offices.
Here's what you’ll do:
Work closely with our wider EWE (Environment, Water and Energy) Work Winning function. You will be responsible for leading and supporting our bid teams through the creation and delivery of a winning strategy, overseeing positioning activities using a consistent method, devising a bid programme, agreeing key deliverables, managing inputs from subject matter experts and driving progress through to successful submission. The bid manager will work collaboratively with the capture manager, technical leads, identified members of the bid team, operational colleagues, writers (where appropriate) and graphics team.
Bid Management Responsibilities:
* Review tender documents
* Co-ordinate the preparation of EOI’s, pre-qualification questionnaires and proposals
* Lead bid teams, identifying and briefing contributors from across the business and manage, motivate and support them throughout the programme.
* Support workshops/planning meetings including working with key proposal contributors to establish clear win strategies, messaging and content planning
* Drive the process to research the client’s aspirations and share this knowledge with the team
* Support capture managers in go/no go preparation
* Bid co-ordination and programme management
* Oversee reviews of quality, and manage compliance of submissions
* Input into bid quality review, presentation and content writing/editing where required
* Train and guide teams to prepare for client interviews and presentations
Additional Responsibilities:
* Collaborate: Work with the wider EWE (Environment, Water and Energy) Work Winning team in ad hoc activities on bids across EWE. Support and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing, insights and learning across the EWE Work Winning Team.
* Quality: Implement best practice approaches, and promote the use of AECOM’s bidding processes across Energy pursuits.
* Leadership: Promote the development of our people and the behaviour and culture necessary to win; including supporting junior colleagues to develop bidding skills.
* Support: Assist the Energy Work Winning Lead in the active management of the sector pipeline to support forward-looking bid planning. Support in the creation and management of other work winning collateral such as CV’s and case studies on our Work Winning Hub.
Qualifications
* Experience in bid management in similar market sectors/industry, with evidence of leading significant/strategic bids within the UK and Ireland; we will be happy to consider applications from senior bid coordinators who meet key elements of the role specification and are looking for the next step in their career
* Experience of managing multi-disciplinary proposals of strategic value
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Have a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
* Desirable: APMP certification
