HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Job Purpose:
Stormking is looking to recruit a Class 2 driver to ensure goods are delivered to new build housing developments. This role is multi-drop, so the number of drops will change daily. Start times vary, but usually around 5am. We cover the whole of the UK, so ideally, being able to do nights out would be an advantage for this position.
Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure compliance in line with operator’s license.
* Ensure drivers’ hours regulations are adhered to at all times.
* Ensure WTD (Working Time Directive) rules are followed.
* Maintain Driver CPC qualifications up to date.
* Keep driving licence entitlements current, reporting any changes promptly.
* Adhere to highway laws at all times.
* Ensure compliance with HSE standards.
* Carry loads safely at all times.
* Ensure equipment is in good working order.
* Follow site rules at all times.
* Set a professional example to all.
* Communicate information via the relevant channels.
* Follow operational processes and procedures.
* Alert relevant personnel to process and product concerns and rectify them.
* Safeguard property issued by the company.
* Maintain a clean and tidy workplace, following all housekeeping procedures.
* Wear appropriate uniform and PPE.
* Transfer knowledge and skills among the team.
* Promote continuous improvement to enhance service and efficiency.
* Undertake reasonable duties as directed by the senior manager.
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
* Excellent transport and compliance knowledge.
* Good standards of housekeeping.
* Valid Driver/CPC card.
* Minimum of 6 months proven HGV experience.
* Good level of numeracy and literacy.
* HGV licence.
Desirable Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
* Ability to make decisions and escalate if necessary.
* Effective communication skills to motivate the workforce.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Knowledge of electronic POD systems is ideal, though training can be provided.
