We are looking for an experienced Senior Aircraft Maintenance Operations Manager to lead line and base maintenance operations for BDUK at RAF Odiham and AAC Middle Wallop. This role involves overseeing the Chinook Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) teams and supporting our Vertical Lift business unit.
As one of the nominated Maintenance Managers (Form 4) under BDUK's MAA Part 145 Maintenance Repair Organisation, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and timely delivery of aircraft maintenance.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of Boeing employees and leaders performing maintenance under Boeing's MAA MRP Part 145 approval.
2. Ensure safe, compliant, on-budget, and on-time aircraft maintenance as the nominated MAA Form 4 maintenance manager at RAF Odiham.
3. Collaborate closely with the Military CAMO, Chinook and Vertical Lift Programme management teams, and DE&S to deliver the contracted statement of work.
4. Adhere to the BDUK MOE and Operations Manual, ensuring adherence to budget control and reporting on performance.
5. Manage technical employees in an aerospace scheduled maintenance environment, including planning teams and production control/maintenance control.
6. Act as the Site Lead in Odiham, maintaining a strong relationship with the Station Commander and representing Boeing to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Ensure compliance with Station requirements for fire safety, security training, and other operational needs.
8. Support the Programme team in communicating with relevant customer stakeholders. Interact with senior military and company officials, working independently under time constraints and pressure.
9. Demonstrate excellent communication and people skills, familiarity with supply systems, and military maintenance practices and procedures.
10. Function effectively in a demanding, on-call, operational environment and obtain a UK security clearance.
11. Manage the growth of capability and lead the strategy of new processes.
Qualifications:
1. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of maintenance practices within the UK Defence Air Environment (DAE) and/or the commercial aircraft maintenance sector. A combination of relevant qualifications and experience will be considered.
2. Proven experience in management within a highly regulated aircraft maintenance environment.
3. Strong knowledge of military/commercial airworthiness and regulatory systems.
4. Experience in working with CAMO and managing planning teams.
5. Excellent project management skills and ability to work against tight deadlines.
6. Familiarity with supply systems and aircraft maintenance practices and procedures.
7. Ability to interact with senior military and company officials. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proficiency in working in a multi-disciplined environment.
9. Ability to obtain a UK security clearance.
